I wrote this song about my Grandfather, Johnny Cash when he seriously became ill for the first time in the mid '90's. He almost died and to recover after he returned to his part time home of Montego Bay , Jamaica. We stepped off of the plane together and when the workers outside of the airport saw him, they dropped to their knees below the stairs and throwing their arms in the air said ," Thank the lord for Johnny Cash. He is Alive!!" It was very touching to see and I wrote this as a New Years Day present to him in the weeks to come. From then on he forced me to play this song at every family gathering or guitar pull we had.
